SYNTECS | The commercial potential of Laser Surface Texturing developed in SYNTECS
EU projects are designed to create commercial impact, not just technical progress.
As the SYNTECS project enters its last stages the
partners arranged a meeting with interested commercial players to have an open discussion about progress, applications, commercial
opportunities and future developments for Laser Surface Texturing.
The meeting, hosted by Iconiq Innovation, covered the following topics:
- The laser scanning modules. Anne Feuer, Fusion Bionic.
- Process and Monitoring controls. Christoph Zwahr, Fraunhofer IWS.
- The case studies. Anvesh Gaddam, MTC.
- Laser texturing system integration. David Bruneel, LASEA.
The external advisors were drawn from Avient, Thyssenkrupp, Standex, BEKO and PIEP. The discussions centred on essential commercial
drivers - speed, cost, quality, adaptability and new applications. The SYNTECS outputs were judged 'outstanding' and we look forward
to further commercial impacts after the project finishes in November 2025.
